Veterans For Peace: Chapter 10 has joined with Masjid As-Salam, the Muslim Solidarity Committee, the Interfaith Alliance of NYS and the Interfaith Center Serving the University at Albany to hold an ongoing voter registration drive in front of Masjid As-Salam that started on Friday, September 23, 2016 and will continue every Friday until October 14, 2016.

Update from Albany Chapter:
Veterans For Peace (VFP) and the Muslim Solidarity Committee concluded their Veterans Challenging Islamophobia voter registration drive registering 133 voters in the Capital District. Bridges were built and friendships were made with the Muslim community and a greater sense of understanding and well being were achieved, the results of people working together cooperatively to improve their lives.Veterans For Peace also registered 24 voters in Syracuse NY and the voter registration drive continues in Los Angles,CA with an Oct. 24, 2016 cutoff date in CA.News sources (Reuters, CNN) have reported that Muslims nation wide are working to register 1 million new voters for the Presidential elections awakened by the anti Muslim rhetoric in this election cycle. VFP and the Muslim Solidarity Committee along with the the Interfaith Alliance of NYS, the Interfaith Center Serving the University of Albany and Social Action Committee of Congregation Beth Emeth have strongly supported this voter registration drive and now encourage everyone to vote in the upcoming election.
