Tomas Young returned from Iraq a paralyzed war veteran, and spent his last ten years courageously speaking against America's wars while battling heroically with injuries.
A national speaking tour will begin May 2, remembering Tomas Young, his fight to balance struggles as a paralyzed veteran with his drive to speak out for veterans care and against the war.
Events will also celebrate the release of Tomas Young’s War, a new book by Mark Wilkerson with a Foreword by Phil Donahue, an emotional and powerful book that sheds light on many crucial but often overlooked issues such as veterans’ care, public attitudes toward the disabled, medical marijuana, and the terminally ill.Tomas Young’s War shares everything, as unflinchingly honest as Tomas himself: the depression, the pain, the love, and laughter...the life of this man whose world was turned upside down by an Iraqi bullet more than ten years ago. Throughout, it serves as a powerful testament to the true cost of war.
Please join Mark Wilkerson, author of Tomas Young’s War, on a speaking tour sponsored by Haymarket Books, Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Veterans for Peace.
