The Syracuse Chapter of Veterans For Peace has officially been re-chartered and is looking forward to a new era of service to veterans and victims of war. The re-formed chapter’s official name is VFP Chapter 51 – Central New York in Syracuse, NY and currently serves veterans in the Central New York region. The chapter membership currently has includes veterans and associates from Oswego, Jefferson and Onondaga counties, and hopes to attract members from neighboring counties to the south, west and east.
The group recently conducted an outreach activity at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Syracuse on July 21. Future activities include film screenings and participation in the upcoming Hiroshima Day Peace Procession to memorialize the 70th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The Chapter will be holding their next meeting on August 19 at 7 pm.
