Members of Veterans For Peace, Chapter 970 in Janesville, Wisconsin participated in group discussions in October with a Peace and Justice Class at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. The group was invited by Professor Holly Denning to share our experiences of how we came to become members of Veterans For Peace after having completed our military Service. Everyone who participated in the two hour discussion agreed this was a very worthwhile project and the chapter plans to do more programs of this type in the future. The chapter also conducted an Armistice Day Program at Peace Park in Janesville, Wisconsin on November 11, 2014. The program featured speakers discussing the need for more effort to find peaceful resolutions to conflicts and included the reading of the names of the men and women from Wisconsin killed in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
