Report provided by Chuck Palazzo, member of VFP Hoa Binh, Vietnam Chapter 160.
It saddens me to share this news. Hue, a 25 year old Vietnamese Agent Orange victim being cared for and learning skills from DAVA, has passed on. I am personally saddened by this because Hue was a friend. Regardless of her disabilities, she always smiled and persevered to learn sewing skills at Center 3. She also represented DAVA at the past two fundraisers we did in town - one just a couple of weeks ago. Last year she told Tien she wanted to return again this year because of the happiness it brought to her.
She shared with Tien that she felt she was leaving us soon and wanted to be with her family - that was a week ago and that is where she died. We received word this afternoon.
The US and the manufacturers MUST do something - this makes absolutely zero sense. I get angrier and angrier - we have to do something and soon. Enough of this. No more excuses. For Hue, her suffering is over. For the rest of the victims - all three generations and across the world - it continues with no end in sight.
