“Stand Up” is an organization that advocates for women veterans and the encounters and challenges they face upon their return. Statistically, more than 15 to 20 percent of the armed forces are made of women. Women armed forces leave the military with a twice as likely chance of having depression than the universal population. Unfortunately, despite their endeavors, women veterans are ignored by the public when it is their time to receive entitlements or rights and benefits they have earned.
Veterans For Peace is a national 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization, founded in 1985 by U.S. Military Veterans. Based in St. Louis, the organization has more than 100 chapters across the nation, carrying out the mission of peace and justice. At VFP, members and staff strive to reveal the true costs of war, build a culture of peace, and heal the wounds caused by war. Having dutifully served our nation, VFP veterans affirm a greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace.
