The Veterans For Peace Howard Zinn Fund is intended to provide a resource to local chapters for projects that further the VFP mission of peace and justice, particularly where a small grant can make a difference to the project's success. Funds are made available on a two-to-one matching basis, where the applicants must collect independent resources for at least a third of the total project costs. Based on available money, the review committee may award partial or full funding to any proposal, up to a maximum of $1,000.
VFP chapters and at-large members can submit a proposal at Zinn Fund Application. Chapter applications will be given priority. Individual chapter members must submit grant request through their chapter. The review guidelines for awards are indicated at Zinn Fund Awards Criteria.
The deadline for grant applications for the 2nd Quarter of 2012 is June 1. Applications received after this date will be considered in the Fall quarter review.
Please help us build the VFP Howard Zinn Fund, so we can build the resources to support local chapter peace and justice projects!
VFP Chapters 49 and 162 have each made a donation of $50 to the Howard Zinn Fund, and challenge other chapters to do likewise.
Contributions can be made online at donations to the Howard Zinn Fund, or a check can be made out to "VFP Howard Zinn Fund" and sent to VETERANS FOR PEACE, Virginia Druhe, 216 South Meramec Ave., St. Louis MO 63105.
