Mark your calendars for November 29!
On Tuesday, November 29, you can join the thousands of people in coming together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
Veterans For Peace has once again joined the #GivingTuesday campaign, a global day dedicated to “unleashing radical generosity”—countering the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The 24-hour event, this year on November 29, encourages us all to make meaningful investments in causes that matter most to us. We invite you to invest in peace at home and peace abroad by donating to Veterans For Peace.
The efforts of military veterans working for peace need to be heard more than ever. We have set a goal of raising $5,000. Will you help us get there?
HERE’S HOW TO HELP! - Forward this message to everyone in your network who may be moved to contribute to VFP’s vital work! Write a personal introduction to help inspire them to give.
-
Visit our donation page now or on November 29 to help us reach our goal of $5,000! Your generosity will help us sustain our work in 2023.
- Share our donation page on social media! Use the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #VeteransForPeace
We need your support. Donate to Veterans For Peace today! Be fearless in the face of war. Support a peace organization that can make a difference. |

| Stop War, Save Climate Report Backs
While world leaders came together for the 27th UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), Veterans For Peace planned Stop War, Save Climate actions to call on the US Government to live up to its rhetoric by disclosing the carbon impacts of military operations and taking meaningful action to address the climate crisis. We will continue to take bold direct actions in cities across the US until we can convince the public of the link between militarism and the climate crisis.

Webinar - Truth Killers: The Corporate Media and the Military-Industrial Complex
December 1st - (8pm ET / 7pm CT / 6pm MT / 5pm PT)
The first casualty of war, and militarism, is the truth. And the corporate mainstream media works diligently hand-in-glove with the US military-industrial complex to make this happen. Through its unquestioning repetition of government propaganda, its lies of omission, and its ratings-hungry war mongering, the media have become an essential part of the information war so endemic to US imperialism.

Don't Let the VA Research That Benefits All Americans End
VA research has given Americans the nicotine patch, shingles vaccine, the CTA scanner, state of the art prosthetics and much more. Read this article to see how VA research is currently informing all Americans about the ongoing COVID epidemic: repeat-covid-infection-doubles-mortality-risk. VA research is at risk of ending but can be saved by the VIPER Act which will fix a misguided legal interpretation of a rule to allow VA researchers to continue to receive grants through private universities. This bill was passed by the House but is being held up in the Senate.
Click below to tell your Members of Congress to prevent the VA from losing its ability to do critical research that benefits veterans and all Americans. |
Even better, call your Senator and urge them to ensure this bill is passed. Go through the Capitol Hill phone line at (202) 225-0911 to connect with your Senator. If you want more information and/or want to help SOVA fight to fully fund, fully staff and expand VA health care, visit our Save Our VA webpage. |
