Larry Carver
Larry Carver, a longtime member of the Cape Cod Chapter 041 in Massachusetts passed away in January, 2003. Larry was often our 'delegate' to the VFP National Conventions and so other members around the country knew him as well. To put it mildly, Larry was the 'sparkplug' of our chapter.
Larry Carver was a WW II Air Force veteran and life-long community activist and leader. He was a member of the Cape Cod Chapter 041 for 10 years ago and immediately fell in love with the organization. Although he remained very active in a number of political and progressive organizations including the Green and the Democratic Parties, the World Federalists and CPPAX, a Boston-based peace and justice group, he gave his heart and soul to VFP. He was tireless in his work for the chapter and will be remembered for frequently bringing us back to our "Abolish War" mission when he thought we were getting too far afield. He loved to participate in VFP on the national level and always brought back to us all the news (and controversy!) from the convention. Before his passing, Larry Carver was happy to see VFP growing and becoming stronger. We miss his enthusiasm and humor and will carry on in his spirit.
